Dr. Noor Khan is Nutrition International Senior Technical Advisor for Nutrition in Food Systems, including food fortification and universal salt iodization.

In this role, Noor helps achieve and maintain external recognition of Nutrition International as a leading global technical agency in research and programming for the cost effective scale-up of food-system interventions to improve the nutrition and health of children and adults – particularly adolescent girls and women of reproductive age.

Noor also provides guidance, support and input to Nutrition International programs and acts as an internal resource for Nutrition International’s work in these areas.

Noor joined Nutrition International in 2000 as National Program Officer in the Pakistan office.

He then took on the role of Pakistan’s National Program Manager and later became the Country Director.

In 2011, Noor transitioned to Senior Technical Advisor, Food Fortification (FF) and Universal Salt Iodization (USI), at Nutrition International Headquarters in Ottawa, Canada.

In that role, he provided program guidance, support and input to Nutrition International programs on FF and USI, including monitoring global progress and generating analyses and reports on Nutrition International’s work in FF and USI for donors and others as required.

Noor has expertise in establishing primary health care systems, developing policies, strategies and guidelines to improve child survival and development and maternal health and managing successful micronutrient programs focusing on micronutrient supplementation, fortification and global impact. He has an MD, an MSc in Community Health & Health Management in Developing Countries and a Commonwealth of Learning Executive MBA.
