Alison Greig joined Nutrition International in 1995 and is currently the Senior Technical Advisor, Infant and Young Child Nutrition (IYCN).
While at Nutrition International, one of her key achievements has been building and maintaining the global vitamin A supplementation (VAS) program, one of the world’s largest child survival programs.
As Senior Technical Advisor, IYCN, Alison provides program guidance, support and input to all of Nutrition International’s VAS, zinc and infant, young child feeding (IYCF) programs, at the country, regional and global levels.
Alison monitors global progress and generates analyses and reports on Nutrition International’s work in VAS, zinc and IYCF. She represents Nutrition International’s VAS and zinc programs at the global level and is Chair of the Global Alliance for Vitamin A (GAVA) network.
In addition, Alison develops and manages a portfolio of global VAS, zinc and IYCF projects and liaises with Nutrition International’s Research and Evaluation focal points to further develop Nutrition International’s research plans, build the evidence base and coordinate operations research in the VAS, zinc and IYCF program areas.
Alison has expertise in public health, nutrition, program management, monitoring, evaluation, and results based reporting.
She has specialized expertise in VAS program design, implementation, and monitoring, vitamin A supply procurement, country-level forecasting and supply chain management, and in other child survival intervention programs. She has a BScH in Biology and an MSc in Public Health.
