The WHO-UNICEF Technical Expert Advisory Group on Nutrition Monitoring re-examined the existing ranges of wasting and stunting developed in the 1990s, and developed new ranges for childhood overweight.
The proposed thresholds minimize change and maintain coherence across anthropometric indicators. The new ranges will be longer-lasting and should not require another review in the near future.
