Students in Pakistan share their experience with nutrition program
Over 50% of adolescent girls in Pakistan are anaemic. But efforts are underway to change that.
The Government of Pakistan’s Adolescent Nutrition Strategy and Operational Plan includes combating iron-deficiency anaemia. Nutrition International is supporting the government to meet adolescent girls where they are. This started with a pilot project in Lodhran, Punjab to integrate weekly iron and folic acid supplementation (WIFAS) and nutrition education into the adolescent nutrition program in school.
Meet two grade 10 students, Hijab and Zahra, who share their experience and watch how this pilot project is inspiring further action.
