Dr. Irfan Ullah is Nutrition International’s Deputy Country Director for Pakistan. In this role, he oversees program development, project coordination, grant management and provides strategic leadership in the Pakistan country office.

Dr. Irfan is a medical doctor and accomplished public health specialist with more than 20 years of experience working in the nutrition and development sector.  He holds a Doctor of Medicine in Pediatric Specialty from St. Petersburg State Pediatric Medical University in Russia and a Master’s of Public Health from ABASYN University in Pakistan. Additionally, Dr. Irfan is currently pursuing a PHD in Human Nutrition and Dietetics from Bacha Khan University in Pakistan.

Prior to assuming this role, Dr. Irfan served as Nutrition International’s National Program Manager for both the Universal Salt Iodization and Wheat Flour fortification programs where he assisted in efforts to enact mandatory food fortification in 3 out of 4 of the country’s provinces. He has also worked as the Technical Advisor for Health and Nutrition at World Vision and as Deputy Director of Health at the Pakistan Red Crescent where he managed complex emergencies.
