Ottawa, CANADA – Nutrition International is pleased to announce the appointment of Vivian Onano as the new Vice-Chair of its Board of Directors. A respected development advocate and social entrepreneur, Onano brings a wealth of leadership experience and a strong commitment to advancing equity and opportunity for women and girls around the world.  

Onano is the Founder and Director of the Leading Light Initiative and an influential voice in global development, with a strong focus on youth empowerment, education, and gender equality. She has served as a strategic advisor to several organizations, and her work has earned international recognition, including the New African Woman on the Rise Award. Forbes Woman Africa has also profiled her as “One to Watch.” 

“I am honoured to take on the role of Vice-Chair at Nutrition International,” said Onano. “This organization’s mission to improve nutrition aligns strongly with my own lifelong commitment to creating inclusive systems that empower women and youth. I look forward to supporting the Board and leadership team in driving impact at scale.” 

Onano has been a member of Nutrition International’s Board since 2019, offering valuable insight and engagement to help guide the organization’s work. Her appointment as Vice-Chair comes at a pivotal time as Nutrition international continues to expand its global impact through proven, life-saving nutrition solutions – helping to steer the organization into its next phase of growth and innovation.
