Male motivators strengthen maternal, newborn and child health in Northern Nigeria
Mohammed Sankira goes door-to-door connecting with fellow fathers and dads-to-be within his community in Kudai, Jigawa state in Nigeria.
Mohammed is one of 600 men who received training to bridge gaps in access to health and nutrition services. With funding from the Government of Canada, Nutrition International and the Government of Nigeria, alongside state healthcare agencies and the National Emergency Maternal and Child Health Intervention Centre, implemented this behaviour change intervention strategy across the six northern states of Jigawa, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto and Yobe.
