Joy Kiruntimi is Nutrition International’s Deputy Country Director for Kenya. In this role, she oversees project management and coordination, ensuring quality assurance across multiple programs, including maternal newborn health and child nutrition, adolescent nutrition and large-scale food fortification. She also collaborates closely with the country director to develop strategic plans and operating budgets, and engages in high-level representation. Joy is responsible for managing project teams, cultivating partnerships, and overseeing program implementation in alignment with budgets.

With more than 20 years of experience in the health and nutrition sector, Joy brings a wealth of expertise to her role. Prior to joining Nutrition International, she served as Deputy Country Director at Action Against Hunger – Kenya, where she coordinated the country office program and provided support to advocacy, gender and resource mobilization. She has also contributed significantly to the nutrition field through various roles held in South Sudan with World Vision and ACF, focusing on diverse health and nutrition.
Joy’s leadership and commitment have been recognized through two performance awards for demonstrating organizational values, promoting collaboration and driving cross-functional teamwork.

Joy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Food, Nutrition and Dietetics from Kenyatta University in Kenya and a Master’s of Business Administration in Health Leadership and Management from United States International University Africa in Kenya.
