Mellissa Hisko is the Director for Global Immunization, Outbreaks and Nutrition at Global Affairs Canada. She has previously served as the Director of the COVID-19 Global Health Task Force, overseeing Canada’s efforts to combat the pandemic on a global scale, focusing on aid commitments and investments.

With over 15 years in international assistance, Melissa has held several key positions at Global Affairs Canada. She has served as the Departmental Focal Point on Youth, Deputy Director of Nutrition and Senior Advisor to the Deputy Minister of International Development, where she led on multilateral policFy and programming matters. Additionally, she represents Canada on the board of Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance and holds the role of a Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement Donor Network Senior Official.

Mellissa’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts from Carleton University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa.
