As the Global Portfolio Director for complex nutrition projects (PINGS, BRIGHT, AMAN and BISA), Johnière Smith oversees projects that take a multisectoral approach to nutrition, with multiple composite outcomes and implemented in partnership with several government ministries and NGOs.  

Prior to joining Nutrition International, Johnière worked in humanitarian action and international development on food security, livelihoods, nutrition and health programming with organizations such as ACF, OXFAM-Novib, FAO and UNICEF in various countries in West and East Africa, the Middle East and Asia.  

Johnière has a MSc in rural planning and development from the School of Environmental Design and Rural Development at the University of Guelph. She also has graduate certificates in sustainable agriculture and food systems and in delivery science for international nutrition from the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University.
