Overview

This paper describes current evidence-based nutrition recommendations and global guidance for nutrition actions to address adolescent undernutrition, overnutrition, and micronutrient deficiencies. Despite limitations of available information, authors believe that a range of interventions would feasibly improve adolescent health outcomes. Packages of nutrition-specific and -sensitive preventive care and management interventions are recommended. Authors also discuss potential delivery platforms and strategies relevant to low- and middle-income countries, as well as recommendations for addressing policy, implementation, and knowledge gaps.
