Overview

Nutrition International, in collaboration with the Government of Nigeria and Bauchi State is supporting a three-year implementation research project on the transition from iron and folic acid (IFA) supplementation to multiple micronutrient supplementation (MMS) as part of antenatal care. Research has shown antenatal MMS is just as effective as IFA in preventing maternal anaemia and more effective at improving birth outcomes. The research will develop and test human-centered design strategies to support the transition and optimize the uptake and adherence of MMS among pregnant women in Nigeria.
