Nutrition International applauds the African Development Bank’s initiative to unlock Africa’s future potential through nutrition-smart projects

In January 2019, the Banking on Nutrition (BoN) Partnership—through funding from Big Win Philanthropy and Aliko Dangote Foundation—requested technical assistance (TA) delivery from Nutrition International’s Nutrition Technical Assistance Mechanism (NTEAM) to support the operationalization of AfDB’s Multi-Sectoral Nutrition Action Plan (MNAP) and to strengthen in-house capacity on nutrition smart investments.
Over the course of 19 months, NTEAM delivered expert TA support that was centered on motivation, practical training tailored specifically to the AfDB’s portfolio across sectors, and planning for sustainability of nutrition smart investments at the AfDB. The TA delivery equipped the AfDB project team with the necessary knowledge and skills to design, manage and track nutrition smart investments. This document summarizes NTEAM’s experience and achievements.
