Overview

From January to July 2024, Nutrition International supported the Government of Laos in conducting the Mid-term Review of the National Plan of Action for Nutrition (2021-25). The process included a desk review , key respondent interviews and focus group discussions at both national, and provincial levels across three key sectors: health, education and agriculture. Three themes emerged: good practices and challenges in implementation as well as coordination and nutrition governance. The key recommendations emphasize the need to align the National Plan of Action (NPAN) with the sectoral development plans with dedicated budget, prioritizing high-impact interventions for the most vulnerable sections and a stronger coordination mechanism.
