Overview
This study describes the nutrition-relevant context required for effective intervention planning with a special emphasis on iron because anemia has been identified as a significant problem in adolescent girls in Bangladesh. It revealed important information about adolescent girl’s health and nutrition belief and practices regarding iron nutrition, dietary behaviors, daily schedules and activities, insights about their beliefs and values, and conceptions of “a healthy life. The study was undertaken to inform a larger project to develop a replicable model for integrating nutrition activities into the multiple social development programs in BRAC, a large nongovernmental service delivery organization in Bangladesh
