Overview

This white paper outlines experiences, opportunities, and lessons learned in scaling up specific, well-proven interventions to address the global burden of undernutrition. During the process of scale-up it is often necessary to prioritize groups that have a more urgent need—in this case undernourished children from conception through the first two years of life. Scaling up nutrition interventions involves identifying successful programs and practices and applying management, communications, and monitoring principles and tools to expand the number of beneficiaries until everyone who requires the product or service is reached.

Several successful examples of scale-up of nutrition interventions from various countries in the Asia-Pacific region are presented briefly, along with a summary of the critical success factors.
